Birthmark Doula Collective launched Black Birth Matters in 2016 to raise funds for birth doula services for women of color — a mission rooted in the visionary leadership of Jamilla Webb and Ashley Hill Hamilton. These gatherings created safe, inspiring spaces to openly address critical issues impacting Black birthing families in Louisiana.
